Our Village Siolim
Siolim, a serene, tranquil and tropical village of Goa, is one of the largest villages of the state. With its densely forested and shady lanes for beautiful walks, Siolim is full of colonial houses and tropical fruit trees. Situated inland from the coast, Siolim rests itself by the Siolim/Chapora river where one can spend hours to walk and relax. Siolim is very Goan and produces some of the world’s best Feni, a unique Goan alcoholic drink brewed from coconuts or cashews. Siolim’s St. Anthony’s Church, one of the oldest churches of Goa is surrounded by small market stalls and shops, also famous for the Wednesday bazaar, where the local village folk sell their wares.. 'Tar', to the north has many stalls around the old ferry jetty where a regular fish market takes place.
Siolim, a centrally located village is in close proximity to the famous Vagator and Morjim beaches of Goa and Mapusa town.
